Within Our Community
A large church provides many ways for individuals and families to connect.
First and foremost, Main Line Unitarian Church is a volunteer organization where church members staff programs that help carry out the ministry. We have numerous committees, from A (Adult Faith Development) to, well if not Z, certainly Y (Youth Adult). Where do your talents and interests lie? We encourage you to serve as your schedule allows; This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it can help you find just the right spot.
We also provide numerous opportunities for fellowship. Over Labor Day weekend families gather at Camp Tockwogh on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for activities that include sailing, rock climbing, tennis, archery, swimming, biking, folk singing, arts and crafts, and much more. Tockwogh traditions include a treasure hunt, talent show, air show, water communion vespers, and shore clean-up. Each winter a busload of church families heads to Vermont for a weekend of downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. Other annual church events include our Auction, Holiday Workshop, and year-end picnic.
In the church there’s a toddler play group. Retired men and our Women’s Alliance gather separately each month for lunch and a program; they join forces each December for a festive holiday luncheon.
Opportunities for intellectual and spiritual development abound. In addition to our formal Adult Faith Development programs, the Soul Sisters explore female spirituality, and there are groups that gather for book discussions, meditation, and prayer.
There’s more: a new jazz coffee house, monthly folk sings, and surprises cooked up by the Committee Of Fun!
