The Annual Auction roared to life on Saturday, November 5, and all of MLUC's best guys and gals came out in spades. The music of Jay Wiley got folks boogieing from the start, and our Twenties theme was highlighted by Prohibition-era dress and décor, courtesy of Scott Turner. The evening was emceed by Kevin Thomas and hosted by Sally-Ann Fritzson.
At center stage, though, it was the Rose auctioneers, Ron and Joanne, who entertained and propelled the bidding to nearly $29,000! That is an amazing amount of support for your church!
Meanwhile, guests dined on appetizers galore, presented by Sandy Gargus, and Deirdre Gordon and her Small Group greeted the crowd crowing over the Silent Auction items, which were organized by Barbara Colton and Noelle Hammerbacher. Up front, the Wiedemans (Bridget and Greg) and Ingrid Deckman (our Russian siren) decided admissions. Behind the scenes, Joyce Alexander, Cindy Arnold-Cohen, and Michelle Blumer gave life to the Live Auction with their donation solicitations. Our femme fatale, Jenny McClay, clipped clothes pins on Heads and Tails takers, and Rich Fritzson shot all within camera range.
Soon, the Saloon Gang of Maureen Osborne, Bob Batt, Frank Weber, and Al Wambach ran low on suds and brown bags. Downstairs, the wee ones were chaperoned by Lisa Jochum, Shelley Parker, and their helpers. Before evening's end, our backroom crew, Carol Reich, Mike Daley, the House-Kellys (Laura and Brian), and Don Walker extracted payment before folks made off with their loot. A plethora of unsung heroes and volunteers showed up to make it a grand evening for all. Thank you from the Auction Committee!
