Sunday Services
Services, which last about an hour, are held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. from the second week in September through the second week in June. Throughout the summer, only one service is offered, at 10 a.m.
Upcoming Services
September 5: Mary Oliver, Mysticism, and Unitarian Universalism
One service only at 10:00 a.m.
Rev. Elizabeth Ellis
Music: Laurie Rogers, piano
Mary Oliver is one of those poets who, with a sudden word or phrase, can suddenly transport the reader to another, deeper place. Like some of our Unitarian Universalist foreparents, she is a true transcendentalist and mystic. Mysticism is an experience of Mystery, of knowing beyond knowing. There are many, many forms of mysticism. How does it fit into Unitarian Universalist experience – and what about Mary Oliver?
September 12: Why Am I Here?
Rev. Dr. Justin Osterman
Music: Dr. Vincent Craig, piano and organ
This morning we will officially launch our new church year with intergenerational services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., during which we will celebrate through word and song our community and shared faith.
September 19: Twice Burdened
Rev. Dr. Justin Osterman
Music: MLUC Choir
One of the most difficult requests another person can make of us is, "Please forgive me." Sometimes we can oblige with ease, while at other times forgiveness seems beyond our ability.
September 26: the Spiritual Discipline Against Resentment
Rev. Craig C. Roshaven
Music: Maureen Osborne and Topper Roth, guitar and vocals
Practicing the Spiritual Discipline Against Resentment is how I guard against the spiritual scourge of bitterness and resentment.
Joys and SorrowsClick
here to be taken to a form on which you may share your joy or sorrow with our ministers. If they receive your e-mail by Friday at noon, the ministers may mention your joy or sorrow during our Sunday morning services (unless you indicate that you would prefer otherwise).
All Church Services
Throughout the year, we have several all church services. There is no church school on those days; children attend church services with their parents. Childcare is provided during these services for children 5 years old and younger.
Church School
There are two Church School sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
for children age 3 through grade 7, and special programs for 8th
graders and high school youth.
For more information about our Church School and Youth programs, visit the Children and Youth page.
Childcare
Our Childcare program offers care for infants and children under age 3 during
both services.
